These images show the stillborn kitten which has a range of deformities – with two bodies each with four limbs connected to a single head.
It was born in the southern Turkish province of Karaman
Cat owner Ruveyda Tirtir realised that her pregnant moggie was having difficulty giving birth during the night.
In the morning, Tirtir went to check on her cat and saw that it was apparently in a lot of pain.
She rushed the cat to veterinarian Bilge Kocak who performed a C-section and sadly pulled out three stillborn kittens.
One of the dead kittens had developed two bodies, eight legs and a single head with four ears inside the womb.
Kocak, who said it was the first time she had even seen such a case, told local media: “The cat was brought to us at 11am.
“We soon realised that one of the kittens had suffocated to death.
“We first removed the stillborn kitten and tried to deliver the other two, but they were too big so we carried out a C-section.”
She added: “We soon realised that the other two were dead too, but the last one had two bodies on a single head.
“We decided to keep the kitten’s body in formaldehyde so that it can be sent to universities for research.”
Kocak added: “The kitten has 8 legs, everything is developed, but there is only one head.
“It even has four ears.”
